Hail to the CHIEF!!!

Do someone you love a favor.... get a check up now

We visited Plains, Georgia the other day ... Best known for Peanuts, Cotton and the 39th President of the United States it is a cute little town with a population of about 600 people.

Jimmy Carter 39th President of the USA

Plains is a quiet, peaceful small town with a small business district. Visitors come to this hometown of Jimmy Carter's to see this little southern town where a young boy grew up to become the 39th President of the United States.

This is the train tracks that brings in tourist a couple of times a week.. It is a little excursion that generates in Cordele then goes to Americus and Plains... and the second pictures is of Main Street in Plains which is the only street with a total of nine stores.

Just two more of the stores in the same block of the others... They are sure proud of their local hero who is often seen bicycle or jogging through town... He visits the businesses often.

Here is the train depot that Jimmy used as his campaign headquarters

Here is Ralph & Norm in front of local store and me in the infamous peanut disguise... Of course I had to go in and get some PEANUT BRITTLE... YUM

Billy was the colorful kid brother of President Jimmy Carter. This is the gas station he owned til he died in 1988. It is now a museum with his things in it.. Suppose their is any Billy Beer

Constructed in 1921, Plains High School is where President Jimmy Carter and the First Lady Rosalynn Carter went to school. It was a opened until 1979 and now serves as the museum and visitor center of the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site.

Here is the typical classroom from when the school was open and the auditorium

The Carter Farm was owned by his parent Earl & Lillian Carter... Jimmy Carter lived in this home from 1928 til 1941 when he went away to collage.

Living Room & Washing machine on back porch

Here is the dinning room and look they even had a meal all cooked up on it... LOL

This bathroom had a very unique shower head don't you think and Sheila this shot is for you.... I had to open a gate that keeps you out of the room just to take a picture in it...

Here is the kitchen and just look at the beautiful old stove

Jimmy's bedroom & his parents bedroom

Here are some of the outer farm buildings and I couldn't resist taking this old wagon

The barns around the property

And I know you saw this BIG fella but...

Gueeeezzzz his teeth were dirty...I just had to floss them

Go Rays!

Until Later

Hugs And Kisses

Oh wow, I really liked this tour Donna. Even though I live in GA I've never been to Jimmy's hometown. I really love his boyhood home. Peanuts make me weak like most people go for chocolate so I really do need to go down their and have my pic taken in a peanut! LOL
Hugs, Penny
