~~~ Beautiful week ~~~

What beautiful weather we have been having in the Sunshine State…

We spent a one day over at Orlando’s Universal. We had a fun filled day there and enjoyed many rides in the park. They are celebrating Mardi gras for the next month or so and had an incredible nighttime parade. It was a spectacular parade and the boys came away with ton of beads…

After we left the park we went to Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville Cafe for dinner. We sat outside on the Porch of Indecision and WOW what fun we had. The disc jockey there was amazing and he really entertained us & the kids. I had the best fried chicken & nut salad (sugared pecans) YUM. A fun place to go!!!

I went up to my daughters this week to watch my twin grandsons. I picked them up from daycare and watch them until she got home… she is a nurse and works 12 hour shifts when she goes in. We had a great time together… first I stopped at McDonalds and got them a Happy Meals & then they played in the play area for about an hour. After we left there we went out to Dunedin Causeway and I watched the sunset with my two darling boys. They ran, chased birds, picked up sticks & shells and enjoyed watching the sun sink into the Gulf of Mexico. That really tired them out so when we got home they took a shower and then came out to watch American Idol with me.

So as you can see it was a great week! I hope you had a fun week too!

Redwood Forest in Klamath, California

The ride north on Hwy 101 was one of the most gorgeous rides we have taken... Sometimes we were in the woods with the GIANT Redwoods and then all of a sudden we would be at the coast line with such fabulous views...

This was a wonderful park and at the Passport America price of $15 it was a bargain. Situated right on the Klamath River surrounded by the Redwood National & State Park. Tassie was parked with her front facing the Klamath River and we had such a beautiful view it was unbelievable. However still no AT&T Internet or phone but our friends had Verizon service. We also had FHU with 50 amp service which is hard to find in this area. The host, Bob, was more then friendly and so helpful with information about the area.

We spent the 3 days here visiting the coastline and Redwoods... I knew the Redwoods were going to be HUGE but in my wildest imagination I never expected what we would see when we got there. The Redwoods are magnificent, immense, ancient, stately, mysterious,and we were all in awe over their beauty. The trees can reach ages of 2,000 years and regularly reach 600 years. Resistance to natural enemies such as insects and fire are built-in features of a coast redwood. Diseases are virtually unknown and insect damage insignificant thanks to the high tannin content of the wood. Thick bark and foliage that rests high above the ground provides protection from all but the hottest fires.

The coast is a also magnificent and mighty. Hundreds of miles of coastal hiking trails, giant redwood forests, and historic lighthouses are just a few of the things

you will find on the Northern California Coast not to mention Seals,

Birds and the mighty waves beating against the huge rocks.

We truly enjoyed our visit to the California coast.

After the 3 days here we have moved up the coast and entered Oregon. Oregon is the only state in the lower 48 that we had not been to. So check that off our bucket list. And continuing our journey up HWY 101 it was just like we expected this is another beautiful state with our ride taking us right up the coast.

Soooo What Do We Do here in Tonopah, Az ???

We have been here in Tonopah, Az. for 3 days and drove all around the area but nothing great to blog about... There is plenty of desert and mountains that look like maybe they were created by volcanoes or perhaps even volcanoes themselves.

Phoenix is around 45 miles from here and we do intend to go there but just for the day. Maybe Wednesday... We need to go to Sams Club & Walmart and restock on supplies so that will be another day. Then on Friday our friends Norm & Chris will be here... They will have traveled 2300 miles in 13 days to get here.

We will be very happy to see our friends!

There is one eatery about 2 miles from here and another one about 8 miles... all the other places are about 20 plus miles from here as is Wal Mart.

The sunset here in the desert are just incredible...

Every night it is like God paints the sky for us to enjoy....

Brantley Lake State Park & Sitting Bull Falls

We finally moved over to Brantley Lake State Park. Still in Carlsbad north of main city and it is wonderful... The sites are huge and the ones next to you are far enough away that you don't feel crowded. The sites have water,They have 30 & several 50 Amp, also 4 have sewer but if your rig is over 38 feet long you may not fit in to the sewer sites but all of the other sites are huge. Both AT&T and Verizon have good phone reception BUT no AT&T Internet... We called and they said in 6 months they would have it there. TV is by satellite only...no local stations. I don't know about Verizon. And a added bonus the SUNSETS are to die for... Gorgeous!!!

We went for a ride after to Sitting Bull Falls. We had found out about Sitting Bull Falls while looking at RV Park reviews. We headed the 30 miles west to Sitting Bull Falls and I'm so glad that we did. The drive was beautiful; We stopped numerous times to take pictures and once we got there, it was a short walk on a concrete walkway to the falls. Very beautiful - one of the largest waterfalls in New Mexico. You should bring a lunch as it's an ideal place for a picnic since there are covered and uncovered tables available with gorgeous views.
