Tomorrow is the BIG day ~ I knew it was coming but really didn't think about it much. I have had this appointment for months and it really needs to be done and I know I'll be much better after the pain of recovery is over but I am still worried. So many people have told me their horror stories and I am hoping that stories they are. Luckily for me I do have a high threshold for pain and I recover pretty fast.
I have my hospital bag packed with all I think I need. Today I am going to have my toes painted and my hair styled. A dentist appointment to get my teeth cleaned... I'll be squeaky clean from the tip of my head to my toes. Later this afternoon the rehab place is delivering the equipment I will be needing the first few weeks after I return home. Walker, Crutches, a Ice Compression machine, A CPM machine (to exercise my leg twice a day) and a portable toilet...WHAT? Portable TOILET!!! Really where am I going to put all of this stuff in our Tassie???
Well I am ready and counting down...
Have Fun, Travel Safe & Stay Healthy!!!

Thinking of you and praying for a successful operation and speedy recovery..will be watching for updates...good luck
Stories they are--my Mom had her knee done several years ago on a Monday, walked out of the hospital (with a walker) on Thursday morning, was staying by herself by Saturday. She did not need a portable toilet only a riser for the toilet so it was easier to sit. My father also had his done and the same scenario. All of us out here in blog land will keep you in our thoughts and prayers!
Our friend Bill had his second knee replacement this summer and even though it hurts (surgery always hurts) he said it was so worth it and he'd do it again if he had a third knee. Lots of prayers for your recovery.
hope it all goes well Donna! You will be fine!!!..
I'll be watching to see how it goes. My wife needs both knees "done" at some point. They're both pretty much bone on bone.
Hope you have a speedy recovery.
Sending prayers and good thoughts your way.
A friend of mine had a really good looking PT guy that came to her house afterwards, and she just took drugs right before he came...she did fine.
Good drugs and a hunky physical therapist seem to be the key. :)
I'm sure you'll do fine and you'll impress the doctor with your pretty toes!
My vote is for good drugs and a hunky physical therapist...our thoughts are with you for a perfect surgery and a quick recovery!
Good luck! Maybe you should put some nail polish on the knee that needs to be replaced saying "it's this one"! One can never be too careful in a hospital!!!
I ditto Rick's comments! God luck with your procedure, and we'll be thinking of you. Take care
Catching up...I know what you mean about keeping little ones. I once remarked about that to my Daughter after being with her two when they were younger...she said "Mom, I do it every day" to which I replied, "But, I'm 20 years older than you".
Your home camp looks like a nice place....
I pray that your surgery goes well, you do all that the Drs. tell you and your recovery is short and your knee is good as new in a few weeks.
Mama Bear
I had to laugh about the portable toilet, you already have one in a motor home, That by far was the worst job of being house nurse last year when my sister was bedridden in PA. Emptying and cleaning the potty bucket and keeping it sanitized.Hope your recovery is quick and you are not confined to the bed to long. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna..
Hoping for all the best for you and praying for a quick recovery. I agree on the drugs and hunky PT guy!!
