What Internet Service????

We haven't had Internet coverage for over 2 weeks... AT&T is NOT good on the West Coast of Oregon or for that matter the West Coast! Unless you are in a BIG city or on the Interstate system you can not count on coverage. You just don't realize how dependant you become to the connection to the outside world. Not only for blogging but for looking up the many things you need and want to know when you travel. So that is why I haven't been around or over to visit my many blogging friends & I am sticking to that! I will try to catch you up on all the wonderful things we have seen & done while I have good service here in at Tall Chief RV Resort.

We are now in Fall City Washington and only 11 days away from entering Canada which is the beginning of our real journey up to Alaska. We have traveled up the west coast of Oregon and visited Mount Rainier & Mount St. Helen since I blogged last. What beautiful Mountains they both were and how devastating the story of Mount St. Helen. Also there was a ton of snow at both mountains... I think we will not see summer again til we get back to Florida. While in Fall City we will be visiting Seattle and surrounding areas... Do you have any suggestions as good places to visit or eat? We were here last about 10 years ago and so some ideas would be great.

Thanks for coming by to visit and please stick with me as I may be missing from time to time due to my not so great Internet in areas... I am sure in Canada & Alaska we will be limited. So I will check in when I can.

I wanted to share with you how important it is to be careful when maneuvering out in the rain or on muddy wet roads... On our last day in Seaside Oregon I was walking the dog after a rain storm. As I was trying to get into the RV I either slipped or tripped on the wet ground and fell into Tassie's wheel cutting my eye really bad as it hit the lug nut on her HUGE tires. I was so lucky that I didn't get hurt worst then I did but all I ended up with is a badly cut eye just above the eye socket and a beautiful shiner... It didn't need stitches but did need to derma-glue to close it up. Since it was travel day and we were only going about 100 miles I opted to wait til we got where we were going to go to the hospital. The people at the hospital in Centralia, Wa. were very nice and really took great care of me quickly. Here's looking at ya!

Until Later... Have FUN, Travel Safe & Enjoy Everyday!

Don't have any suggestions for meals in Seattle ... but I've been there several times and there are so many wonderful choices! Good grief! Your eye! You are indeed a lucky woman. I wish they could have used derma-glue to close my wound from cancer surgery this week. My face is still stitched, sore and red! Travel safely and let us hear from you when it's possible.

For your Seattle tour, I would recommend a visit to the Pike Place Market and the nearby Seattle Aquarium.
If you have time on your way north, a short side trip to Mt Baker-North Cascades NP is well worth a visit.

If you go to downtown Seattle take the bus, parking is limited and pricey. Once downtown you can hop on and off free. Dale Chihuly has a wonderful exhibit in Tacoma in a bridge over a freeway. http://www.chihuly.com
Also their zoo is small but some great exhibits. Have fun.

Ooooh, you were so luck you didn't injure yourself worse than you did. Glad it wasn't anything too serious.
I certainly understand your internet issue so I will say....I'll wait for you to post and be eager to read and see where you have been. :)
We are looking forward to following you through Alaska and other beautiful areas.

Take care and travel safely.

Welcome back to the "online world" Donna! That's quite a shiner you've got - it would make a hockey player proud!! For what it's worth, we had tremendously good coverage with Verizon all up and down the entire west coast during our vacation - never hit a dead spot anywhere. I'll second the recommendation to visit Pike Place market and any of the nearby seafood restaurants.

Hi Donna, nice to "read you" again. We've been on Hwy. 101 in Oregon many times and I know about those internet gaps that exist. I figured that was what was going on with you and Chris.

yeah...Pike Place in Seattle is great. Also, there is a boat tour through the locks leaving from Lake Union and going to Seattle. That is great.

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh!! Girl? You were lucky that all you got from that mishap is a shiner and a small cut wound. Thank your lucky stars. By the way, did you see stars? [kidding!]

Beautiful photos. Yep, I know what it's like traveling if you're not on interstates with cellphone connections. They say Verizon is the best, but really.......who knows?

Enjoy all your side trips and drive safely!!!

Ugh oh ~ we have internet service with AT&T also. It was not too good in South Dakota but the rest of the places we have been have been pretty good.

We hope to travel the up the West Coast and see Oregon and Washington next year. Good to know about the internet service.

Wow - that fall is scary! Take care of yourself; be careful! Hope the eye heals quickly!

Hi Donna,
I hope your eye heals quickly, it looks like it really hurts!

Suggestions for food in Seattle would be Dick's Drive-In and Ivar's. Beautiful pictures!

Donna, Ouch to your eye injury. Darn that looks painful. So glad you didn't hurt yourself worse.
I know what you mean about having crummy internet, we can't get high speed here and my aol is so stinkin slow.
Cute picture of you and Ralph.
Happy Belated Mother's day. I haven't been blogging much any more but wanted to stop by and say hi.

I "fourth" the recommendation to visit Pike Place Market, even if you do not want to buy fresh fish. The fish market is a riot. Also, visit the "smallest" national park in the US right in Seattle. Just ask for directions.

Oh my..you poor thing..hope you are healed by now..
I understand about the ATT internet all too well...not the best on the west coast..Verizon is king there.
We only keep ATT for internet because we are grandfathered in to unlimited data service..otherwise I would go to Verizon.
Take care..will be following your travels up north..
Jeff and I plan on Going to Alaska next summer.
