~~~ A Walk in the Park~~~
We just hung out around the park yesterday. Alyssah, Poppy and I went over to the playground so she could burn off some energy... An 8 year just needs to get out and run sometimes. Then we went for a long walk on the Florida Birding trial that runs right through the park. This trail goes for miles through Florida. Unfortunately with Alyssah chit chatting so much we didn't really see but 1 bird... Last year when we were here I took some beautiful pictures of a lot of birds.
Here is Alyssah playing in the playground and also getting ready to go on our 2 mile hike
Here are Cattails.. I always loved these as a kid & Alyssah exploring a canoe outpost. She really wanted to take one out... Maybe later in the week if we can
The only bird we found... I think it is the Blue Heron. Alyssah thought he was so funny stalking the fish... She joined right in hunting with him
Here my little sweet one found a hermit crab... She had never seen one before and found him very funny. She loved the story of how when they outgrow their shell they move out and find another one that is larger... ahhhh home sweet home
This is the marsh we went through on the way back to our Tassie... These little furry friends are called marsh rabbits... DUH!!! he is a rabbit and lives in the marsh
Well we had a great walk and tomorrow we head to the beach hopefully
Until Later
I thought the marsh rabbit was a march wildcat at first! Had to double click to see his bunny ears. :) Looks like y'all are having a great time.
Going to the beach with my 8 year old granddaughter and 11 year old granson next week. I am looking forward to it. Her favorite thing is shopping so we spent today doing that.
Aw, I love Alyssa's outfit!
I had to laugh though. It's a blue HERON, not herring! And then I laughed some more, because he wasn't "stocking", he was STALKING. And then I laughed MORE, because earlier today another bloggy friend (Pooba) used the same word! Arghhhhhhhhhh! LOL
