We started out around 9:30 and have about 260 miles to go today to reach our destination Waco, Texas... As we headed out the road we saw lots of these...
Pumping for oil I guess
Then further down on Interstate 35 we saw Texas Motor Speedway... No race today but I can just imagine the excitement when there is one. It is hard to see but the race track is further in the back and huge.
And even further down the road we approached our first BIG city Fort Worth... We chose to go around Dallas which may have been a good idea. Look at this awesome skyline and the scary roads.
At this exit Tassie thought it was where she should get off... She just knew there was a whole city of her brothers & sisters. We finally convinced her that is was just a town...
Finally we arrived at our RV park... Midway COE Park
There are several things we want to see & do while in this area
• Texas Ranger Hall of fame
• Dr. Pepper Museum
• Suspension Bridge and River Walk
Stay tune for more info on our time in Waco, Texas
Until Later... Have FUN, Travel Safe & Enjoy Everyday!

Hi Donna,
In England they call those oil pumps 'nodding donkeys'. Here I am in TX, and I don't know what they call them here!
Happy Trails, Penny, TX
Glad to see you made it safely, Donna. Have fun!
Donna, you definitely made the right decision taking the Fort Worth split instead of Dallas. And be very, very glad that there wasn't a race event going on. You would have been sitting for hours! Glad you are almost to your destination. Have fun! Kathy
Looks like a fun to see and do list, have a great time!
Stay Safe
Donna, y'all be careful! Those roads do look scary - especially when you are in big ole Tassie! laurie
Good you arrived safe and sound! Enjoy the area and have fun.
Hi,
We just love Texas!!! We spent the first 6 weeks of full-timing in Texas. We volunteered at Hagerman Wildlife Refuge. You can take a tour of the new Dallas Cowboy stadium if you haven't already and we really enjoyed the Stockyard in Fort Worth. I will be reading to see what other things you all do. I definitely want to return to the area one day.
Have fun!!
Hi Donna, So you got sick of the snow and moved on to Texas?? I hear we are supposed to get more next week. I like it but I'm ready for spring! Thanks for checking out my new items! Have fun and be safe, Kristen
Yep, yep, yep...the big cities in Texas DO have scary highways!!! To be sure.
Enjoy your stay.
LakeConroePenny, those oil pumps are called pumpjacks in TX.
Donna, glad you are finally on your way to your adventures.
