~~~ Finding a Groomer ~~~
Our little girl Tiffy was really getting ragged and needed a haircut & bath badly. She hates to go to the groomer and shakes the whole time she is there. When traveling it is so hard to find a groomer that will do a good job on your dog and be kind to them. You try to find a groomer near where you are at, visit their shops and check them out... and sometimes we will go to a Petco or Petsmart.
The groomer we took her to is the one my daughter takes her dogs to. So we felt pretty confident that she would be good with our little Tiffy. When we got there she was so kind to her which made us very happy... She is such a nice woman and works with the forestry department taking in fawns whose mothers have either been killed or have deserted them... She had the cutest little deer just walking around the shop and he was just as friendly as could be. I asked her what happens when he is full grown and she explained to us that he will be put up on to some mans property who protects them... They are free to roam on the many acres he has and even come up to the house and visits with him, It was such a nice story.
See where his little antlers are coming in?
They are just little nubs and are really funny feeling
Tiffy is so cute now and feeling so much better. But she was really thirsty when she got home... hmmmmm!
Now if only I could find someone to do my hair and nails all would be good.
"BIG JAKES STEAK HOUSE"
We went to dinner yesterday for my granddaughter Alyssah's birthday to a restaurant called BIG JAKES. Now it is named for John Wayne and is totally done in western style with posters of him throughout the restaurant. They have very good food and a great atmosphere. I love the shelled peanuts on the table, bread, and pinto beans as an appetizer. They are also doing what a lot of the restaurants are 2 dinners for $20 and I am telling you that is something that can't be beat. We had an appetizer to share, 2 complete meals and 2 desserts... For our appetizers we chose Chips & Salsa & Jennifer ordered an Awesome Blossom.
Check out the beautiful meals that we got! Ribs for me and steak for Ralph
See the cute little train under the wagon that travels all around the inside walls
All the waitresses came out to sing Happy Birthday to our sweet little angel..
Look at Hannah (oldest granddaughter)with her mouth full of dessert ☺
Alyssah got a HUGE Ice Cream Sunday for free and
Hannah with her mouth full again
Well just look at the close up of the YUMMY
cheesecakes that came with the special...
Ok again I didn't cook but I sure did eat well...
Many days I spend sitting outside reading my books and watching all the birds... There is nothing more peaceful for me then listening to them sing their little songs and flit from one tree to another. Here at Spring Hill I have enjoyed a family of Cardinals, Hummingbirds (who are very territorial) and some birds that I am not sure exactly what they are.
My Cardinals
I believe these are juvenile Cardinals
♥♥♥ Where we are now & More Barges ♥♥♥
We are at Spring Hill COE Park in Barling, Arkansas.... It is right on the Arkansas River outside of Fort Smith & Van Buren and it is a wonderful park. We have 50 amp electric and great water pressure... plus I have service on both Verizon & At&T phones... Our internet service is excellent & the TV comes in good, but we had to put out our portable dish because of all the trees. At this park is the Kimbel Lock & Dam where you can watch the many tugboats with their barges & boats go through... Yes (Justine) I know I have posted barges many times but I love them so.... They are right up there with trains for us. So bare with me and enjoy our photos of the park & river...
Here is Tassie in her little place for the next couple of weeks... As you can see this park is not crowded and the sites are pretty far apart back where we like to stay.
Here is our neighbor in the distance and a view in front of our site
Other views in the campground
This is the road out to the boat ramp & the boat ramp into the river
Here are a couple more campsites in the park
This is a stairway down to the riverwalk where Ralph will go fishing
and a nice playground for the kids
