Oak Forrest RV Park in Austin, Texas

We arrived at Oak Forrest RV park (which is located on the outskirts of Austin) yesterday afternoon around 2 pm .. We didn't know what to expect but we did know it is a Passport America park and we don't expect much from them... This park is definitely the exception! We pulled into a beautifully landscaped park with a check-in office that was more then welcoming...

Once inside the charming man sitting behind the desk check us in. After a ton of questions from my husband and me snooping around the office gathering maps and brochures... also a cute little gift shop that I had to browse we finally were on our way to our site. Not to far to go since we had site #1 which is right across from the pool, hot tub, work out room, laundry and beautiful shower area.

The sites are 30/50 amp, W/E, cable TV, cement pad and grass on both sides of the coach... Of course being winter it is kind of brownish. All in all we felt this is a great deal at $22.00 a night (passport price) and we'll be here 3 nights.

Here is a carving of a coyote that someone did on an old tree that had died... Amazing the talent that people have and what a great idea for a dead tree...

There are so many things to see & do while in Austin but since we are here only 2 full days here is what I want to do:

• Johnson’s Presidential Library
• State Capitol
• University of Texas

Until Later... Have FUN, Travel Safe & Enjoy Everyday!

Great choices, if you only have 2 days. The LBJ library is fascinating. And the Capitol is magnificent. If you are downtown anyway, check out the Texas State Cemetery (unless that creeps you out) There are some amazing historical figures buried there, and a haunting confederate field. Also, head down South Congress and eat at the Magnolia Cafe if you can - it was on Triple D and it's great! Have fun! Sorry you're not going to be in town longer, but if you happen through G'town drop me a line. Kathy

Hi Donna! We love Austin! That park sounds very nice and looks beautiful. We've seen the LBJ library many years ago but I do remember we loved it! You're getting closer to me!! Be safe and have fun.

Hi Donna! Are you going to be anywhere near Rockport in Msrch? There will be several of us staying at The Last Resort for the full month of March! It would be great to finally get to meet you!

Wow, $22 a night is a great price for such a lovely place! I see I'm not the only one who arrives somewhere and immediately fills her hands with maps and brochures! hehe Sounds like you have a full 2 days planned and I look forward to seeing the photos you take. I'm just so happy for you that you get to travel like this and see so many wonderful places. Take care and enjoy every minute:-) xoxo

I don't know how you can make it to all our blogs on a daily basis, and leave so many nice comments, but anyway thank you. I can't do half the job you do! Again another nice blog, keep up the good work.
