~~~Ocean Pond, Olustee Florida ~~~
We are now at Ocean Pond in Olustee Florida...
this is one of my many favorite campgrounds.
Ocean Pond Campground is on the northside of Ocean Pond, a 1760-acre natural lake. Sixty-seven campsites are available for tents, trailers, or motor homes. Many of these campsites are waterfront sites where you can enjoy the water or fish right from your campsite. A beach area, boat ramp, drinking water, hot showers, and flush toilets are located in the campground. No sewer hookups are available; however, a sewage dump station is located near the campground entrance. There are 19 paved sites that have W/E 50 amp, however it is on first come basis. We have had times when we arrived and couldn't get electric so we stayed in the water only section which is ok during the spring & fall. There is an area with about 40 beautiful paved sites with water only and then a very primitive area which is GREAT for pop-ups and tents.
This is the road into the primitive area and one of the sites
These pictures are of our site and the areas around it
This is the view behind our site
This is a great area to get away.... we'll be here for 4 weeks!
Have Fun, Travel Safe & Stay Healthy!!!
We've never stayed at Ocean Pond-and have never heard of it until now. Looks like a nice stop. We'll have to check it out sometime. Thanks for sharing.
Looks like a lovely park, certainly with a grand view! We have recently lost interest in Florida, and are making plans to invade New Mexico over the next few years. Different strokes!
Ocean Pond is easily one of our favorite camping areas in northern Florida. We were there a couple of times this year during our winter travels. This last visit was when the battlefield reenactment was going on, very busy, but fun and interesting. Great Post!
Hi Donna! Oh, what a beautiful area you're in and love the snap of you and that precious little fuzzy face. Four weeks? What will you be doing? Have fun and don't get too hot.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
