Soooo What Do We Do here in Tonopah, Az ???

We have been here in Tonopah, Az. for 3 days and drove all around the area but nothing great to blog about... There is plenty of desert and mountains that look like maybe they were created by volcanoes or perhaps even volcanoes themselves.

Phoenix is around 45 miles from here and we do intend to go there but just for the day. Maybe Wednesday... We need to go to Sams Club & Walmart and restock on supplies so that will be another day. Then on Friday our friends Norm & Chris will be here... They will have traveled 2300 miles in 13 days to get here.
We will be very happy to see our friends!

There is one eatery about 2 miles from here and another one about 8 miles... all the other places are about 20 plus miles from here as is Wal Mart.

TIN TOP Bar & Grill and it was really good!!!

The sunset here in the desert are just incredible...
Every night it is like God paints the sky for us to enjoy....

Until Later... Have FUN, Travel Safe & Enjoy Everyday!

Well, I'm just a blog reader who happened by your blog. Thanks for the recipes. I intend to try your French toast recipe for my family (all four "kids" coming to visit) for Easter Sunday brunch. Yum. In return, here is a quick recipe that adapts well to a slo-cooker: Green Chile Casserole
1 pkg corn tortillas
2 cans Cream of Chicken soup
1 and 1/2 soup can of milk
About 1 pound of hamburger cooked with salt to taste and with 1 pkg of Lawry's Taco Seasoning.
1 3 ounce can of chopped jalapeno chile's
2 cups of grated chedder (we like lots. Adjust up or down to taste)

Drain cooked hamburger. Use cooking spray to oil 3 quart casserole. Combine soup, milk, hamburger and chiles in mixing bowl. Set aside. Meanwhile, tear up all tortillas into bite-sized chunks. Starting with chunks of tortillas, layer tortillas, soup mixture, hamburger and some cheese. Repeat layers ending with cheese. Bake at 350 for 30 to 40 minutes until bubbly. If using crockpot, add about 1/2 can milk to make sure the tortillas are moistened all the way through. Put crockpot on low for 5 hours.

good eating.

Oh. One more thing. That part of Arizona doesn't have a lot to tour. It's mainly ranchers. Also around that area, Joe Arpaio has his pink-garbed prisoners living in prison tents. (But...you won't want to see them.) smiles.
