~~~ Yes it was a White Christmas ~~~
It was my first White Christmas since I was 3 years old...
We spent the Christmas Eve with my daughter and it was rainy and cold... We made a BIG pot of chili and cornbread to keep us warm and played on the WII. Later that night we thought it was best for us to leave before the streets started to freeze up. I was so excited when we left our daughters house on Christmas Eve... There were light snow flurries in the sky and I was as giddy as a school girl... "Look! Look!" I said to my Honey who was NOT as excited since he was driving in it... By the time we got back to the campground it was a heavy snow... Our little Tiffy was not sure what was going on and walked ever so carefully on the ground... her little paws prancing like oh please what is this stuff... But she did manage to go potty. We went into Tassie and cranked up the heat... It was also her first time in the snow and she was shivering from the inside out... Thanks to some fellow RVers' (Margie) we had all our water lines wrapped up in insulation and was pretty sure we wouldn't freeze up. Plus we left the water on a slow trickle to keep it moving through the pipes...
We got on our thermal jammies and went to bed.... BURRRR!
When we got up the next morning it was a Winter Wonderland. After trying to walk Tiffy who wanted nothing to do with that white stuff I ran back in to grab my camera... OK I didn't run and I did slip on the ice and went down BUT no injuries... LOL
Here is a very short little video I took when we started driving out of the campground... It is not very good and my battery died right in the middle... But you can see how frozen the street was and the snow blowing in the breeze.
Have a safe and wonderful day!
Hi Donna, how beautiful!!! The snow pictures and video are great.. we had no snow at my daughter's house in Atlanta..
I have been off of my internet connection for a week... thank goodness, my SIL got a new router and I can get back on line.
Have a "happy new year"..
Well now, how wonderful was that to have a snowy Christmas Eve. We had the air on in this freakin' Florida weather. we still had a great time though with food, drink gifts and my Cory was home for the holidays, can't get any better than that.
Stay warm,
Chris
You had MUCH more snow than we did. We had just enough to cover almost everything, but by the end of the day it was almost all gone, even though the temperature did not get above freezing.
What a cool way to spend Christmas - in an RV w/ snow! Sounds pretty stressfree to me. Let's trade next year, what do ya' say? Be careful in your travels! Have a happy New Year!
Oh Donna, Brr! I'm chilly with my "Florida weather." Tampa is much colder than what I'm used to! Happy New Year!
It looks like you all had a wonderful "white" Christmas and it was just beautiful!! I would be excited also since I have NEVER had a white Christmas unless you count the sand in Daytona! LOL
Hope you all have a wonderful 2010 that is safe, healthy and happy.
Stay warm!
Hi, Donna...yes, we even had a White Christmas out here in West Texas...5 inches I think they said. Brrrr, we are about to freeze our butts off...not used to this cold, wet, icy, sloppy stuff!!
Snow is beautiful while it's falling,....after that...all downhill. :)
Found a Chef Santa, ON SALE, at KHOL.COM
I ordered one for my daughter...really cute. If you still want one, check it out;.
Makes it seem more like Christmas, doesn't it? We had snow on the ground, but no fresh snow. My hubby slept out in our 5th wheel when the kids were here, and the water in the toilet froze. Hope none of our pipes break.
Happy New Year
It is pretty. I'm glad it didn't ruin your plans. Its a good thing you took care of the pipes. I remember Daddy talking about winterizing his camper. I guess that is something we'll find out about when we buy ours.
Happy New Year!
