~~~Here we are at Florida Caverns~~~
We arrived safely at the Florida Caverns in Marianna, Florida and set up Tassie in her little nook in the woods... They have sites that are big enough for big rigs, 50AMP and water but no sewer. There are a lot of trees and TV, phone and Internet are hard to get if not impossible. But going to the caves are well worth the inconvenience. We'll be here for 3 nights and plan to go into the caves one day and ride around town to see some of the historic homes the next day... and of course make our weekly visit to Wal-Mart to load up on groceries and necessities...
Entrance to park and Miss Tassie all set up in her little site
Poppy & Alyssah taking the garbage to the dump and
a little friend we saw in the swamps
Here are a couple of pictures of Florida swamps
We are going for a hike down the dirt path to the old swimming hole
Alyssah & Memaw on the boardwalk to the swimming hole & at last the swimming hole. What a beautiful shade of blue it is...
A spring fed swimming hole that stays at 72' all year
Look at this cute little turtle... no bigger then 2" in diameter
& one of my little feathered friends
Tomorrow we are going down into the caves...
It will be a fun adventure for our Miss Little Sunshine...
Until Later
  1. Good Morning! Tassie is sitting in a beautiful site, and it's close to swimming and cardinals and turtles and alligators! Stay a little away from those last things! Thanks for sharing a little of your life with us, and hurray that you are sharing your life with your granddaughter!
  2. FanTABulous photos!!! What serenity...oh to have days like that. I'd give both my ovaries for a trip like this. [If I HAD my ovaries---kidding!]
    That cardinal is gorgeous.
  5. Great shots! But somehow "alligator" and "swimming hole" don't sound like they should go together...
  9. That swimming hole is just gorgeous! Loved the shot of the gator. As many times as we've traveled from Texas to Florida, I've yet to see one in the wild. This looks like a beautiful spot, Florida really is amazing. Have fun in the caves, don't be offended if I don't join you because I am horribly claustrophobic. Kathy
