Thank you very much Susan
Well we have now arrived at Big Lagoon State Park in Pensacola, Florida. This is a state park which the sites are somewhat rustic.... However we do have 50 Amp, TV, GREAT Internet but no sewer hook-up... Also both Verizon & Att&T have great reception. After getting Tassie all set up into her new little (and I mean little) spot in the park we walked around and checked out our surrounding area... When we came back to the motorhome after our walk I fixed a quick dinner and then we decided to take a ride over to the Gulf Islands National Shoreline. On the way out of the park we spotted an Osprey nest and sure enough she was sitting there protecting it... After watching her for a while we headed over to the beach.
See my beautiful Herb garden that I make poor Ralph haul all over the country
Here is the Osprey we saw. The Osprey , sometimes known as the sea hawk, is a fish eating bird of prey. It is brown on the upperparts and predominantly greyish on the head and underparts, with a black eye patch and wings. The Osprey tolerates a wide variety of habitats, nesting in any location near a body of water providing an adequate food supply.
We rode around the Island and checked out the beautiful dunes, Sea Oats and the Gulf of Mexico blue waters... Of course Alyssah wanted to get out and go into the water but we told her we would come back a couple of times to swim and enjoy the beach. It was getting late in the evening and the sun was setting. It was a spectacular sunset and of course I took a ton of pictures of it but I will only post a couple today... After we left the beach we tried to hunt down a Dairy Queen or at least some quaint little beach Ice Cream Shop but with no luck we settled for a Sonic Ice Cream... It was still very yummy!
I'll have some great beach pictures for you to enjoy...
Until Later
Fine pictures, especially of the sunset behind sea oats! You are leading us again to a place we've never seen, and now we want to go there!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
I tried to send you an email yesterday, but it failed. I must have picked up the wrong address. I was trying to respond to your question to our blog about iPod.
What an interesting site you have. I am going to read more and I might become a follower.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of the Osprey and the sea oats.

Oh, these are some beautiful pictures! I loved seeing the osprey and the beach shots. We were just at that beach this spring, and the water is GORGEOUS. The sand, too, is so powdery white that they call it sugar sand. So glad you shared these with us.

how pretty is that sunset!!! I love seeing where you are going...it is just about like being there..you always take such great photos!
ReplyDeleteI surprisinly don't spend too much time working in the yard. Maybe three or four days a month weeding..and I mow the grass a couple days a week. I mostly just sit and look I love the daily watering...it gives me a chance to appreciate all the blooms up close!
surprisingly !!! that is what it was meant to say! lol
ReplyDeleteHi Donna, thanks for sharing your great pictures with us.I can remember as a child, traveling by a train to Pensacola and going on a very long railroad bridge over the water... it was so scary and I felt like the train was going to fall into the water...

Enjoy your adventure and your time with your granddaughter.
