Mesa Verde National Park

Mesa Verde, Spanish for green table, offers a spectacular look into the lives of the Ancestral Pueblo people who made their home in the cliffs and surrounding area for over 700 years. Today, the park protects over 4,000 known archaeological sites, including 600 cliff dwellings. These sites are some of the most notable and best preserved in the United States. We visited this National Park about 5 years ago and was amazed with the beauty of the village in the cliffs. We went with Norm & Chris and another couple. Myself, Norm & Buck all took the tour climbing down into the cliff dwellings... Enlarge pictures to get a better look at it. We are in all the photos that show people so click on them to enlarge and find us... There are green arrows showing where we are in two of the pictures... It was a strenuous climb down into the village but climbing the rope ladder to get out was by far the most exhausting... Please sit back and enjoy the photos.

Double click on the last picture and you will see on the far right of the cliffs just past the village the rope ladder that we climbed out on...

I hope that you enjoyed your tour of Mesa Verde as much as we enjoyed it

Until Later

Hugs And Kisses

  6. That was another beautiful sight to behold. So much history and beauty in our America. And I remember, to get back out of the tour you had to climb a rope like ladder, almost straight up.

  28. We were there in December, but it was too icy to go up in the motorhome. The park ranger asked us how it did on ice, so we turned around. I've always wanted to see it. We've traveled to all the lower 48. I'll be back when it's warm!
    I love the photos!

  29. Hi Donna:
I think I am missing something here, is this park in Florida? I was trying to read the writing on the sign but didn't see the state.
Pictures are great especially the last one when I enlarged it, seeing the small rope ladder. Is that really the only way out? Scary.

  30. The photos are absolutely fabulous. However, I would have to be waiting at the top with Dawnie. I have a fear of falling and that rope ladder would spell major FEAR.
